How does payment work — check or account credit?

Referral rewards are paid as a credit to your CAKE account or by check. CAKE determines the payment method at its discretion.

When do I get paid?

Once your referral has completed onboarding and has been live and processing payments with CAKE for at least 30 days, you qualify for the $500 reward.

Can I refer more than one restaurant?

Yes — there's no limit on how many referrals you can submit. However, only one reward is paid per referred business (you can't double-stack if two people refer the same place).

Can I cash out the reward or transfer it to someone else?

Rewards are not transferable and may not be redeemed for cash outside of the payment methods CAKE offers (credit or check).

Will I need to provide any tax info?

Possibly. Referrers may be required to provide tax documentation, and rewards may be reportable as income depending on your situation.

What if CAKE changes or ends the program?

CAKE reserves the right to modify or terminate the referral program — including reward amounts and payment methods — at any time.
